They discontinued it because of the high cost of simms compared to dipps, people were not buying the 8up until the dip version came out. Simms, as you probably know, are a hell of a lot painless and safer (no pins to worry about. Just snap it in and it works). The thing that has changed is that Simms are dirt cheap now. You can buy 1x8 80ns SIMMS in the $75-80 dollar range now for a 1 meg module. Go for it... later, jason
