But now I guess it is my turn. I am now in the market for a hard disk system for my Amiga 500. I have not even got a clue what is out there let alone how much it is, what the specs are, etc. I wonder if you could send me (email in order to spare those who are also sick of this question :-) the name of the HD controller that you use, and what the specs on it are. Like, is it DMA, does it have room for ram, can it be put into a 2000, all that kind of stuff. I know that the Commodore A590 is kindof slow and expensive for only a 20 meg drive. I have heard of Xetec, GVP, MAST and maybe 1 or 2 others but I have no idea what the specs are or how much they cost. I have heard that the Microbotics controller is the one to get for the 2000, do they also make one for the 500? If not, is there an economical way to put a 2000 card into the 500? Thanks very much in advance. I will summarize the replys that I get and save them in a file on my account. Then when I see someone asking this question again (which should be in about 3 weeks :-) I can just email them what I got for replys. In the summer time I saw a comparison posted for a bunch of controllers for the 2000, maybe I could do something similar for the 500 and then post it. -- + Alan W.
