It runs really well on 386 Unix, and it is subjectively much faster than vi (on the console; Peter says it isn't as smart as vi updating screens, hence a performance hit a low baud rates), plus it can edit larger files than real vi. The author claims that it has something like 97% of all the vi commands, and 93% of all the ex commands.
