Ugrade to PCTools 5.5 (from 5.1) distributed via BBSs, must be made separately, file by file, for each of the 6 or 7 modules of PCTOOLS. Reason: the upgrades are distributed in two flavours, one of which processes a set of four files through a .BAT file, and the other half dozen separately, as self-unpacking (LHARC) archives. All you do is run what purports to be the PCTOOLS file, which then overwrites itself (often) and generates both a .DOC and a RUNME.BAT file for decryption (using your existing PCTOOLS 5.1). The point is that the syntax of each upgrade process is the same, so if you try to process a set of them by a .BAT file you will get hopelessly lost. Main thing is, the upgrade is well worth-while: more commands, and above all most 2-key commands now replaced by 1-key commands. --- ~ Via ProDoor 3.2aR ~ RNet 1.03F: Synapse BBS - Gatineau PQ - (819) 561-5268
