My best bet was a pd prog called drivtypes. It reads your bios and reports all drives supported and gives their params (nice). Although some bios vendors have tried to keep the original IBM AT supported types (1-23), there are so many hard drives on the market now this is really a moot point. Of course you still need to know some specs on your drive before picking the right type. A third party hd prog might help there, such as disk manager, or speedstore. I think (not sure here) that both will report what they think your drive looks like. If you choose t let one of these low-level the disk for you it might make things easier. hope this helps some. -- Barton A.
