Right. We could also call exPanded Memory (PMS) but that doesn't change the fact that only two letters (out of 14) differ between the two names. Whoever came up with those names should be shot. Part of this venom was cooked up in trying to install an Everex RAM 3000 memory board. Yeah, they describe the different systems, sort of, but the possibility for name confusion creates a lot of problems. For example, the reader reading `extended' as `expanded', or wondering if someone (engineer, typist, tech editor, whoever) made a mistake and really meant `extended' but wrote down `expanded'. At least I didn't come across any occurences of `expended memory' or `extanded memory'. :-) And all I really needed was a half meg more memory to run MINIX on... Al
