After realizing his mistake (the floppies wouldn't stop spinning), he installed it correctly, and discovered that the system wouldn't boot. The RLL hard disk, which was being controlled by an MFM controller, seems to have been corrupted. CHKDSK said: disk error reading FAT1 disk error reading FAT2 disk error reading drive C: Nortons utilities was able to read some directories, but not some others.
