I understand there are *three* versions! The first buggy one, a somewhat fixed one (requires extra hardware), and the final corrected version. We are interested in getting a 486 drop-in motherboard replacement for evaluation purposes at work. I've noticed AMI (American Megatrends) has a motherboard. Yes I know Compaq is probably better, but we just want the motherboard. - Can anyone tell me what "codes" are stamped on the CPU so I know which version it is? - Does anyone know if AMI is using the fixed version? - Does anyone have AMI's address/phone#? I'd like to contact them personally. Thanks for any assistance. Please email me directly as the volume of traffic in these newsgroups is quite high and I might miss it.
