Message-ID: <18698@dartvax.Dartmouth.EDU> Date: 21 Jan 90 14:58:07 GMT Sender: news@dartvax.Dartmouth.EDU Distribution: usa Organization: Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH Lines: 23 After all the stuff posted about disk express II, I have a question and my first impressions of DE2. I have used Disk Express since version 1.0, and have upgraded ever since. Alsoft mailed me version 2.01 of the new release, and a friend told me that there might be bugs in the .01 release, so I called Alsoft. They answered in under three rings, and after I gave them my id# and address, they told me they would gladly send the "latest" version out to me. Well, two days later (UPS second day?"blue"), I got a package with a 2.03 disk. I have had no problems with the product, and (personally) after trying to program my mac am amazed at how clever their programmers must be.... Basically, I am a happy camper and suggest that Alsoft is responsible. They seem to have fixed their product in under a week...which is a lot better than some others. THE QUESTION: I want to use desktop manager with my system. For Disk Express II to work properly (can it with DM) do I set the appleshare volume box or what? A rapid reply would be greatly appreciated by me and said friend. My only idea for changes in DE2 is a way to set when you want its 'new day' to begin. I am often working on my mac at midnight.....and setting the 'auto' off then on is just a hastle. Well, that's my biggest complaint. *****Jeffrey Buchsbaum Dartmouth College (Physics Department) Standard disclaimer: any opinions above are solely my own, and not those of the instution to which I am enrolled.
