But what has been happening to me is sometimes after a finder operation finishes, the desktop will clear itself then reappear instantly again. Only thing is after that happens, there aren't any more sounds. Doing things that should cause a sound cause my hard disk like to blink then my menu bar blinks. Opening chooser shows my volume level where it should be, but still no sound. If I play something through sound edit, I'll get that, but when quit that and return to the finder, there is still no sound. Rebooting cures it, until it happens again. System: Mac SE, 4 megs, Multifinder 6.1b9 Charles
