Dear all,

forgive me if I am doing something stupid but this is my first posting.

Can anyone help. I have compiled GNUemacs 18.55 out of the box
onto a VAX 6300 running Ultrix 3.1. When I execute xemacs or emacs
and try to kill something and then pull it back from the kill ring. I get 
kill ring empty every time I do this.
