A while ago I suggested that the NEWS_SERVER should add its recieved items
direct into the newsdatabase without passing the NEWS*.BATCH file.

I got the impression that Geoff started to modify the NEWSADD code to
facilitate addition of such code.

I just want to ask what you are doing in this area before I start to do
the modifications myself.
