But I propose you add an extra header to that will contain a sequence number on your postings. This header can then be used by some software to ensure that you have recieved all postings and have a complete database. As I write this it occurs to me that the subject line could contain~ this info in a standardized format. Then if our site miss a posting we could request it from genbank with the NNTP SENDME protocol. This could be done automatically. A program checks for missing postings.
