(== 'public switched telephone network' ??). Although I'm comfortable with general engineering topics, I do not have previous experience interfacing to the telco lines. Can anyone recommend a succinct and practical introduction outlining the 'rules' which must be followed? I have acquired a copy of RS-496 and done a first pass through it. Great reading, but I suspect it's a bit of overkill for what I'm doing. Any pointers/references etc will be appreciated.
