BEGINNING EMACS QUESTIONS:
I am running emacs (epoch-3.1) on an Apollo 3550.

I am trying to bind the function keys to perform certain functions.

For example in vi I can:

:map ESC[11~ :wqRET     <-- this allows the F1 key to write and quit
     ---
      ^ ^^^  <--- 4 char.

I would like to similarly map the function keys to:

save-file
find-file
visit-file

I would also like to have the BACKSPACE key be bound to delete-backword-char
and the DELETE key be bound to delete-char

The DELETE key seems to be bound  to "Ctrl h ( Type ? for options)"
and I cant unbind it.
