In hopes of injecting some life into this newsgroup:

I've heard (by the rumour mill) of a LIFE program that will do 1103
generations of the r pentomino in *1.5 seconds* on a Sun 1.

I can get to 2.5 seconds on a 2630 Amiga---but that's about ten times
as long (the machine is six times as fast, times 2.5/1.5).

Anyone got a clue if this really exists, or how it might have been
done?
