There will be no response to the challenge that I prove my knowledge of
"this kind of thing has happened several times in the past," because:

  1) It has no relevance to the on-going discussion.

  2) There is no satisfying a nit-picker, and the serie of article
     to follow is of no general interest.

  3) There are people more qualified to produce a proof than I am
     and I will surely make an ass of myself if I try.    :-)
