It uses the same print engine as the II. The main difference is the Formatter board. It rolls in all the current commands available in PCL/IV and adds HP-GL/2. Postscript support for the LaserJet III is only available with the purchase of an additional Cartridge. 2 MB of RAM is recommended for full page 300x300 dot graphics. I have used 1.5MB at 300x300 but the design was VERRY simple. The memory boards used in the III are not the same as used in the II. DO not by a II memory board and expect to use it in the III.
