I have played with the LaserJet III.  It uses the same print engine as the II.
The main difference is the Formatter board.  It rolls in all the current 
commands available in PCL/IV and adds HP-GL/2.  

Postscript support for the LaserJet III is only available with the purchase
of an additional Cartridge.  2 MB of RAM is recommended for full page       
300x300 dot graphics.  I have used 1.5MB at 300x300 but the design was VERRY
simple.

The memory boards used in the III are not the same as used in the II.  DO not
by a II memory board and expect to use it in the III.
