 Check you environment. Our VAX talks to terminals at 7E1 and has some
hardware between me and it which prevents using all 256 byte codes. If
your system is set up this way there is not much you can do. XMODEM
requires an 8N1 set up and a 'virtual wire' between the host and client
systems. RZ and SZ do not support any environment but 8N1 on the VAX.
The author, Chuck Forsberg (sp?), has informed me that a zmodem which 
will work in 7E1 will be available for license soon. Contact Omen
Technologies in (I think) Oregon.

 If you find a solution to your problem I would be very interested in hearing
what it is.
