A friend of mine needs help with his Amiga 500 system.

He has the "light" power supply, a501 1/2 meg expander,
CA880 3 1/2 disk drive external.

When switched on a few days ago, a GREEN screen came up, and then the usual
cycle of black/gray/white screens.  Dpaint III loads perfectly with the 2nd
drive unplugged/switched-off, but superbase professional v3.01? from 
workbench seems to lock up when he clicks on the disk icon for it.
Other disks from workbench also freeze up the pointer when clicked on 
the disk icons.

the second disk drive (ca880) in workbench says bad disk when it is on,
and if no disk is in df0: it reports df0: as bad disk.

Please let me know what he can do so I can report it to him.

He will NOT take it to the local dealer for repair since they charge $120
just to look at it.
