I sure hope the guy also gave you the Amax hardware so that he cannot use it
while you "borrow" the software.  In that case it makes sense to use a backup
of his original.  He should already have some system disks in AMAX format
which will allow you to test the system.  If you wish to use any Mac format
disks you need a Mac drive.
