NuLib as distributed does not handle some minor changes to the NuFX format. In fact, due to a slight misunderstanding on my part, it doesn't handle GS/ShrinkIt archives which follow the original NuFX format. What I'm trying to say is, NuLib v2.1 ain't gonna work with ShrinkIt v3.0 or GS/ShrinkIt. NuLib v2.2 fixes the misunderstanding, but I haven't updated it to handle some new stuff with filenames (which turns out to be a very fatal problem, due to some weird design decisions on my part). While I'd like to distribute an update, I'm a little nervous about it right now after the flak over NuPak. I sent a letter to Mr. Thompson on Thursday night, but haven't received a response yet. If NuPak is indeed my code in large part, then it will fail miserably on GS/ShrinkIt and ShrinkIt v3.0 archives (and from what I've heard, it does). The question running through my mind is, do I want to help Mr. Thompson make money off of my efforts by distributing an udpate? On the other hand, is not updating NuLib fair to the people who use it legitimately? Sigh. At any rate, I would like to emphasize that I have NOT spoken to Mr. Thompson yet, and I do NOT know whether or not he actually used my code. In this vein, I would appreciate it if somebody with a copy could send it and the documentation to me (ShrinkIt+BinSCII format). I would also appreciate it if somebody who knows him could let him know that I'm trying to contact him (maybe something ate my mail).
