Dave you guys can never rest because your os is so buggy. It needs to be re-written. I have seen the Amiga 2000 die when just putting in your workbench and trying to launch some program. Don't get me wrong, I love the games on the Amiga, but thats not going to get me to buy one. I don't like your operating system, but the users of the system have made it what it is today not you. I am getting this from users not making it up. I have a lot of Amiga-zoids around school and I have talked to them and play games with them on their 2000s. Hey it has nice graphics and sounds, and games to the max just like the 64. I don't like the wordprocessors, data bases, and I have not seen any spread sheets for it, but I doubt that I would like them either. But enough of that, the real reason I am writing this is because I have heard some things that might make you say HHHHMMMMMM....... 1. I heard that the Apple // line made about 60% of Apple's revenue (sp?). I am not quite sure how close this figure is, but hey sounds good to me. 2. I also heard that Apple hired another Systems Engineer(ooo aaahhh) for the // line. HHHHHHMMMMMM...... Ain't that weird for a dying computer??? 3. Hypercard for the GS is unannounced, but in the press release for Hcard 2.0 for the Mac they said it would be compatible with Hypercard GS. HHHHHHMMMM.... Ain't that weird????? 4. Rez edit for the GS. Oh my gosh, for a dying computer?!?!? HHHMMM.... Ain't that weird??????? 5. Appleworks GS looks more and more like Macwrite. HHHHMMMMM.... Can you do that on a 65000 based chip??? Now ain't that weird??!??!!? 6. Rumored system 6.0 for the GS HHHHMMMM.... Ain't that weird??!!?!? What I trying to say is, from what you see above, which is a little support (Not as much as we need mind you), but its something. A lot of us wish that these things would materialize soon, so we are keeping our fingers crossed. A lot of us are not really comparing the 68000 and the 65000, but we do point out that we can do some things that cannot (or have not been tried) on a 68000 based chip. Todd seem to know his stuff (I am not going to argue with him about hardware), and he is not really blasting the 68000, but pointing out how Apple could make the GS better. (Todd I agree with dropping the MEGA II) Oh I forgot to mention, The new Apple // mind you, SCSI card that is for the GS and the Apple //e,//+. 1 MB/sec transfer rate for the GS and .5 for the //e. HHHHHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMM........ Ain't that weird??!?!?!?!? But hey love ya babe, but its two in the morning and I need to get up and study for a test. Keep working on that os, parts of it are great but the bugs get in the way. Maybe its not your fault, but Guru messages suck. Robert Brown BITNET: RXBROWN@UALR AMERICA ONLINE: ROBPHD Amiga?
