Sounds like something wrong with your copy of SETPORT. You might try SETLA50 instead. > Feed: single sheets are not fully advancing, line by line. > Seems the patten is not gripping the paper firmly enough. Take off the front cover, and you will see a lever with red head on the right. Pull it toward the front to increase clearance between the print head and the paper. That might help by decreasing the drag against the paper. But the basic problem with these printers is that most have been in service for many years and are wearing out. --- * Origin: Silver Bullet - Silver Spring, Md. - 301-622-2247 (Opus 1:109/123) ------------------------------ Date: 03-12-90 (00:20) To: BOB FULLER Subject: RE: LA 50 ADVICE NEEDED From: GARY STEBBINS BF>Setport: when using the SETPORT program, my screen reads that BF>the LA 50 is not on (it is) and the SETPORT changes are not made. I never had problem when I had my LA50. Is the LA50 online (I know, this seems obvious; but I frequently turned my LA50 on, loaded the paper, and then ran SETPORT before turning it online)? If not, SETPORT will indicate it's not on. Are you using a full cable? I don't think SETPORT cares about the modem control signals, but that's always a possibility. -gary- --- * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (Opus 1:343/3) ------------------------------
