There's one called RBGIF.ARC. Trouble is, I don't know where to find it off-hand. INFO-DEC-MICRO doesn't have it, and my local link with the Rainbow Echo on FidoNet appears to be down. If you don't get a better lead in the next few days, I suggest you call Caroline Mack of _Rainbow News_. Last I heard she could be reached at +1 618 632 1143. BTW: The question seems to pop up every once in a while, so if you find something please let us know. And after the reset the AW>parameters were back to the default. Hmmm, did you hold down while typing ? This should work regardless of which model Rainbow you have. AW>If there is some way of setting the parameters in AW>autoexec.bat that would solve the problem as well. In the INFO-DEC-MICRO file archives on DRYCAS.CLUB.CC.CMU.EDU you could look at BAUD.ZIP. I believe it only sets the baud rate of the comm port, though. Other than this, look into a keystroke simulator used in combination with SETPORT. One possibility, I believe, is Carl Houseman's AUTOTYPE utility, included in RB-BUFFR.ZIP on DRYCAS. Yes, Rob Locke maintains an archive of Rainbow software submitted to INFO-DEC-MICRO. You can access the stuff via anonymous FTP from DRYCAS.CLUB.CC.CMU.EDU. Once you've logged in, issue the command "CD [.INFO-DEC-MICRO]" (skip the quotes) and grab the first two files. LD> Where can I buy an upgrade to MS-DOS ? Suitable Solutions is the only game in town. They can be reached by phone at +1 408 727 9090 or via email as 76666.3003@Compuserve.Com. I believe the cost of DOS v3.10 is $125, but don't quote me on it. LD> What hardware is out there for the 'bow? Most of what there is comes from Suitable Solutions. They do a tremendous job of supporting Rainbows. Want a drive capable of reading IBM disks? Get their I-Drive. Want to soup up your Rainbow with a 286 chip? Talk to them about their Turbow board. Interested in Windows for the 'bow? They sell a kit for it. LD> Is CPM for the 'bow still available ?? Yeah, I suppose so. But why bother? BTW: Since you're new to Rainbows, I suggest you do two things. First, get a hold of archived messages from INFO-DEC-MICRO and read thru them. Look in [.digests] on DRYCAS. Second, spend $35 and subscribe to _Rainbow News_, which is the best source of printed info for Rainbow users. Call +1 618 632 1143 for more info. George --- ~ EZ 1.26 #263 ~ C code. C code run.
