One comment that I didn't duplicate was, "so is my SUN (a handheld), I can hold my terminal keyboard in my hand while I use it. (If you think about it, when adding memory boards and such to the 28SX you have the same situation.) My comments are: 1) For the most part these postings are sarcastic. I have a little trouble with people who are "extreme" or what I would call "anal retentive". I really don't care what gets posted here and I don't think that anyone else should. I use this mail primarily for entertainment purposes. 2) It should be noted however (mail listed below) that there are also a MAJORITY of people who would rather not shell out $300 to keep up with the Jones' or the technonerds, whose 28s entertainment has been ruined by a new barrage of mail about a product they know nothing about, plan to know nothing about, could care less about, and don't even know what one looks like. I trash most of the mail I receive because if it is not about the 48SX, it about some obscure routine or job that I've never heard about. When I post mail asking for any explaination, I receive no reply. I notice that the same people who come up with this crap are unwilling, or MAYBE EVEN UNABLE to explain it. What good does it do to tell someone anything if they don't understand you? Does it accomplish anything but to stroke your ego? They do, however find the time to write and post MORE CRAP that nobody understands or cares about. ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************ (Previous postings) In article <9003092026.AA05123@GANDALF.LL.MIT.EDU> yasu@GANDALF.LL.MIT.EDU (Alan Yasutovich) writes: > > > Maybe since it has been determined that the HP48SX is really > a computer and not a calculator, discussion about it should be > moved to another mail net?? Please, people, let's not get started on the computer vs calculator debate. The HP-48SX is most certainly a calculator, is being marketed as such, and is aimed at calculator owners (interpret that last statement any way you want :-) ). And let's keep those program listings coming (now if only I could find a connector in the hardware lab that would connect to the RS232 port! ****************************************************************************** > Maybe since it has been determined that the HP48SX is really > a computer and not a calculator, discussion about it should be > moved to another mail net?? The group is named comp.sys.handhelds not comp.sys.calculators...... ^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^ Thus any handheld calculator/computer should pass as subject. ******************************************************************************* Well, I sold mine (and ordered a HP48SX) yesterday. Should be here tomorrow. I sold mine for $125. I paid $208 for it in September. Now I see people with posts like "I'll give you $50 for an obsolete calc", or "You can have mine for a leather case for my HP48SX". Come on people. Two weeks ago they were awesome. Nothing has really changed. Some people don't have $350 to blow on a calc. For $125, there's nothing that can touch a HP28S, let alone for less $$.
