Everex makes good money selling different roms to allow you to do this kind of thing. DTC makes some pretty good ones as well as western digital. The upshot is that while everex is pretty good overall, the equipment is just a touch on the weird side. example... I have an everex 2400 internal modem in a turbo XT clone... so far so good, in turbo mode it will dial, connect and dump the call every time UNLESS I'm using Bitcom (the software that comes with the modem, take my word for it... real brain dead, it makes smartcom look inteligent), or Crosstalk Mark4. The weird part is that everything will work just fine if I shift out of turbo (8Mhz). Everex's response is that "turbo doesn't make the modem go faster, so it shouldn't be used". That is certainly true but it definately does spped up disk/memory/etc. Like said, they're just a little bit weird. ghost@cup.portal.com or bferrell@mcimail.com Yes! I AM unique... so far
