I've never met a programmer who didn't think that they could have "done it better" with regards to someone else's product, so here's an opportunity to enlighten us. Please note that the DOS operating system has to remain "DOS" in the sense that Microsoft already has a strategy for a high end OS which requires that programs be rewritten - i.e., OS/2. So our next major release needs to continue to run existing DOS programs and whatever new features it has, it must offer those features to existing programs. Or, the new features must be expressed in utilities and programs which ship with the system. An example of this later would be a screen and menu oriented replacement for the CONFIG.SYS file.
