question for a friend:

radio shack charges over $1000 for a hard disk addition to the
lt 1400.  anyone know of a cheaper option?  for $1000 i can buy
a pc w/ hard disk and desklink the two together!  but really, just
a hard disk in the lt 1400 is all that is needed.
 
also, the lt 1400 appears to have only one uart.  either the modem or
the mouse can be used, but not both at once.  is there a fix for this?
how can i use the mouse w/ a comm program?
