I prefer that the files be placed in a single folder.  If I download
a number of StuffIt files, I can select all of them and unstuff
them at one time while I go do something else.

If all the files are at the top level, then I have to later figure
out which files go with which application.  Not earth shattering
work, but work I'd rather not do.
