Message-ID: <2522@rex.cs.tulane.edu> Date: 16 Mar 90 19:10:55 GMT Reply-To: mb@rex.cs.tulane.edu (Mark Benard) Organization: Computer Science Dept., Tulane Univ., New Orleans, LA Lines: 18 A while back I asked about backing up a Mac across a LAN to a UNIX system. I was referred to macdump. Now that I have a copy and am examining it, I notice that it refers to CAP (Columbia Appletalk Protocol). In checking on CAP, I found that it is for use with a Appletalk network and a Kenetics Fastpath. However, our Macs here are connected directly to an ethernet and use the NCSA Telnet/TCP package for communications, not Appletalk. Has macdump been modified to be used with such a setup, or is there alternate package I can use to do remote backups? I would appreciate responses by email since I do not regularly read this group.
