Message-ID: <790004@hpnmdla.HP.COM> Date: 21 Mar 90 00:30:26 GMT Organization: HP Network Measurements Div, Santa Rosa, CA Lines: 11 I have one of the older Apple CD-ROM drives that has a fan. I'm not having any trouble with it, but Apple's recent fix-it-for-free announcement has me wondering. If I take off the cover and disconnect the fan will that prevent the dust buildup that causes these beasts to fail? I can just use the drive until it fails and then get Apple to fix it for free, but that seems silly if I can just disconnect the fan and avoid the problem entirely. Does anybody know if it will work? Many thanks in advance for all responses. Dan Pleasant
