I'm considering finally going to a 2400-baud modem, and I wanted to learn a bit more about the new protocols that are around that do data compression and error correction, such as MNP-5. Does anybody out there know of a good magazine article or such that would bring me up to speed on these things? And while I'm here, I know that there was a lengthy discussion on various 2400-baud modems a little while ago. Does anybody have a summary of the final consensus? Thanx in advance on both counts.
