As far as I know Finder does not use the MultiFinder Temporary Memory, so if you havent changed the default 160k setting that Finder asks for, your not going to be able to copy large directory structures or numbers of files. In either case your stuck to waiting for the Finder to complete the job. The system I have is based on the MPWv3.0 "Backup" tool. Each morning I backup 180Mb of server disk space onto a series of 4 Syquest cartriges. The process takes about ten miniutes, and goes about its business in the background. While Im reading the news, MPW uses the notification manager to bring my attention to the script when a new disk is required. Ive been using this process for 11 months, and find the Syquest media perfectly suited.
