I've been reading c.s.m.hardware for the past two months now, and have seen a few postings about the Seikosha SP1000a printer which simulates an ImageWriter I and uses the same print driver (though it prints much slower). I've been waiting for a new ImageWriter II replacement so that ImageWriter II's would drop in price, but Apple apparently plans to only substitute a revamped ImageWriter II/L as existing IW II stock is sold. What I have seen lately is another Seikosha model called the SP2000 that advertises approximately the the same speed as the IW II, for about $300 CDN. Has anyone ever connected or heard of connecting this model to a Mac? If so, does it use the IW II print driver? If you have any information, please email me directly, and I'll post a note afterwards (to keep traffic down). Thanks in advance! -- Mike Lee mlee@eric.mpr.ca
