Message-ID: <0a1xxuW00Uh_Q1nkoC@andrew.cmu.edu> Date: 21 Mar 90 20:09:30 GMT Organization: School of Urban and Public Affairs, Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA Lines: 16 I would like to have a portable computer to take on trips with me so that I could use it to edit papers, write memos while things are fresh in my mind, and other text creation and editing tasks. I use ms word 4.0 on my mac. I just can't see shelling out $7000 for a mac portable for these lightweight, mundane uses. Besides, I don't _have_ $7000 to shell out for a portable! does anyone know of a portable I could use that would be "compatible" with my mac in the sense of being able to edit existing word 4.0 files and create new text files that I could then transfer to my mac and edit as word files with minimal hassle? I'm looking for something in the $2000 or under range. thanks for any advice. gordon hester
