Message-ID: <18675@boulder.Colorado.EDU> Date: 21 Mar 90 17:32:37 GMT Sender: news@boulder.Colorado.EDU Reply-To: schabtac@spot.Colorado.EDU (SCHABTACH ADAM) Distribution: usa Organization: University of Colorado, Boulder Lines: 20 I have in front of me a Jasmine DirectDrive 20 and a Mac IIci. If I hook the DD20 to the IIci, the IIci gets a sad Mac at startup, if the DD20 is turned on. If the DD20 is turned off, the IIci will start up okay, sometimes. In neither situation can I get the DD20 to appear on the Desktop automatically; I have to use the Jasmine cdev to mount it manually. I don't mind (too much) having to mount the drive manually. However, if I have to restart the IIci, I frequently get the sad mac if the DD20 is attached, whether it's powered up or not. Obviously an inconvenient situation. Has anyone else tried this hardware combination? The DD20 is a MiniScribe of some sort. My Jasmine Driveware is version 1.094 -- is there a later one out? Any help will be greatly appreciated. It's really frustrating to buy hardware partly because of its warranty, and have the company die before the warranty expires! Thanks! --Adam schabtac@spot.colorado.edu >>>>> KILL YOUR TELEVISION <<<<<
