AppleTalk literature refers to a field called "printer type" in the AppleTalk name for a given printer. The only type I could find is "LaserWriter". Do other PostScript laser printers on an AppleTalk network emulate the LaserWriter and use the LaserWriter type? Do they have their own drivers and their own type? Aside from not selling printers at all, is there some way of doing this that Apple prefers? Although we are developers, I have not been able to find the right people or the right literature from Apple so far and my boss wants an answer by sometime next week.
