Message-ID: <1090@chinacat.Lonestar.ORG> Date: 18 Mar 90 16:11:06 GMT Organization: Unicom Systems Development, Austin (yay!) Lines: 17 Who's smoking rope, me or du? I've got a 344,607 byte file on a 1K filesystem (sizeof daddr_t == 4). Both du and "ls -s" are reporting 341 blocks, but I only count 340. It takes 337 blocks for the data, so I come up with: data total 10 data blocks 10 10 1 single ind. block + 256 data blocks 256 257 1 double ind. + 1 single ind. + 71 data 71 73 ----- ----- 337 340 Am I missing a 341st block somewhere? -- Chip Rosenthal | Yes, you're a happy man and you're chip@chinacat.Lonestar.ORG | a lucky man, but are you a smart Unicom Systems Development, 512-482-8260 | man? -David Bromberg
