Greetings, I wonder if I might pose a question, at risk of repeating
something, Has anyone ever written a dump/restore that writes/reads
compressed tapes? And if so, what was your experience? And are your
sources available?

Since I'm in the right forum, is anyone at Berkeley, or AT&T *EVER*
going to get rmut() *OUT* of the million places it currently lives
all over the UNIX O/S, and put it into a library? I mean really
folks, I thought that was what libraries were for... :-) !
