Does anyone our there know whether Ventura > runs on VP/ix? We just started using Ventura -- I just did our latest "UNIX Pages" with it. I ran it on VP/ix under Xenix. The only problem I had was that switching between multiscreens didn't work right. When I got back to the Ventura screen it wasn't repainted correctly. Clicking on the repaint box fixed everything except the top line (outside the window). This was with a Herc video board. Performance seemed to be about the same as running it under DOS. I haven't played with the EMS driver yet as it isn't clear what you can do. My guess is that you actually use an EMS memory board but it really doesn't say that. If this is the case it seems real dumb. Seems VP/ix should dole out real memory in the dumb-ass way that DOS wants to see it. Anyone know if this is the case? I just bought Adobe Illustrator. I would like to run this under Xenix but so far it appears that it is too slow to run on anything. I have the windows (yuck) version and expect that may be the problem. At the moment I expect to return it. Anyone know of another tool that generates EPS (or something else Ventura likes) and is less of a pig? -- Phil Hughes, SSC, Inc. P.O.
