HP proposed Xw (a.k.a. CXI) to OSF. OSF chose a mix of Xw and DEC widgets and called it Motif. They awarded the developement of Motif to HP, so the programming team that developed Xw switched all of their efforts to developing Motif. Xw is now pretty dead. I would definitely recommend developing new applications on Motif instead of Xw. Brian Cripe bcripe@cv.hp.com P.S. The source of my information is that I sit across the aisle from the Motif development team.
