It seems that no matter where my husband and I have lived, we find that public transportation services are constantly being cut. I think the public officials have the attitude that any moral, hard-working person would have a car, and that if a person doesn't own a car, then "to heck with them." This is a terrible attitude. I've had to turn down work because the buses stopped too early, or they didn't go to a particular place. If they would only understand that there are many people to whom buses and/or trains are a necessity, not just an alternative for when the car breaks down.
