Why not use an air-conditioner timer to turn on the TV (I assume you want
to be woken up by it, correct?), since there's a lot of current draw in a
TV, that's why the aircon timer. I use a smaller one to turn on a lamp for
me in the morning (since I'm a heavy sleeper), after the radio comes on.
