From the NMR side of things, it is preferred if the binary data file is sent to the VAX from the ASPECT using a binary Kermit program which is currently on both of the computers. The problem now is to convert this data which is unreadable on the VAX to a readable form (either formatted or unformatted). Is it necessary to know additional details about the binary format of the ASPECT computer besides the bit length? If I can figure out what specific system calls to use, I can write the appropriate Fortran program. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated since I know Fortran, but have never used VAX system calls to any great extent. Please respond via E-mail as I don't normally read this news group. Thank you very much in advance. Leonore Findsen, sometime system manager inet: FAX0357@UOFT02.UTOLEDO.EDU bitent: FAX0357@UOFT02 There is something called a .sig file?????
