ECM is a generic term for radar/radio jamming, while it is generally extremely
helpful in pinpointing your position to the enemy radar, it prevents targeting
radar lock-on until a point called "burn-through" at which time the return
signal from the radar is strong enough to provide accurate tracking
information.
