I mean, the Apple IIgs isn't all that there is..... From what I've heard, the IIc+ is 4MHz, which is faster than a stock Apple IIgs. I was miffed, though, when I found out that it had a 65C02 and not a 65802 in it. Perhaps the Apple/WDC slug-out goes deeper and further than we thought. What would you like to see on an Apple IIe of the future? Here's some of what I'd like.. o 4 MHz - Apple IIe, IIc+, etc. o 65802 at the least... o 1 Meg? We got a 1 Meg GS o ProDos-16 for the 65802 IIc/IIe o FDHD drives o 16-bit ROM software This is a rather terse list (I'm a software person, not a hardware person!) but it's a start anyway. Seems to me an Apple IIe (or IIc) enhanced this way would be giving Apple a lot of bang for its buck - that is, relatively few enhancements giving major functionality. Methinks a 4MHz 16-bit Apple IIe/IIc would be a welcome sight. Any thoughts? From all the IIgs talk out there you'd think IIes and IIcs were dead, dead, dead, DEAD! [SIGH] [david]
