I've been running a 520 ST since Feb '86. It is, obviously, one of the museum pieces--external drives and power supplies; TOS now in ROM but originally on floppy. But it has served me well, especially since I added a 30-meg HD. My problem is isolation: I'm in a tiny upstate NY town, with no user group or dealers close by; COMPUSERVE is a long-distance call, and it's even becoming difficult to find the Atari-oriented magazines. While I don't need tons of software, it's difficult to escape the feeling that I'm missing out on a lot. It's therefore good to read other people's notes, and to see hints of demo software and other goodies available through this SIG. But how does a newcomer find out what's available, and get access to it? Any and all suggestions welcome; feel free to email me directly via BITNET unless you think others might benefit from seeing "the basics" in a general posting. Many thanks.
