Reinserting the disk has no effect, and I usually can't get it out of this write protect "mode" unless I reboot the computer at which time everything is fine. I tend to notice this problem after using the computer for a couple hours, but I don't think the length of time that it has been powered on is a big factor. Anyone think they know what causes this? I've checked the switch with a meter and it seems to be responding correctly... One might also note I had the drive replaced when my other one died, but this was not something that started happening immediately after the replacement.
