I have been out of touch with this newsgroup for a while so 
don't flame me too bad if this is something that has come up
recently.

I would like to build a spectrum anyliser, using a 10 MHz 286 machine,
in the audio region.  I am building some musical instruments, a
hammered dulcimer and a harp, and I would like to quantify the effects
of specific construction changes.  

There are lots of ways to go, game port, sampling board..... any suggestions.
